for BARKER families 1810 - 1850
I checked the AIS index for our family names at the LDS family history library in Logan, Utah. It lists all the head of household names on the US census and mortality schedules for the 1810/1820/1830/1840 and 1850 (plus more). Here are the names I found that I thought could possibly have some relationship to our BARKER lines. I tried finding census film numbers for all of them, but the 1810 and 1820 film index wasn't available:

Most of these films were not available in the Logan library.
I'd really like to look at the ones for:
Michael Hawk (Fayette, Ohio) in 1820;
Delilah Hawk (Fayette, Ohio) in 1830;
Joseph Barker (Fayette co, OHIO) in 1830 (Israel named his oldest son
Joseph--could this Joseph Barker be Israel's father?);
Israel Barker (Tippecanoe, IN) in 1840;
David Hooton (Decatur, IN) in 1840 (This David Hooton lives in the
same county as William Harrison Slane, Cyntha's
first husband);
William H. Slane (Decatur, IN) in 1840.
I did look at the 1850 films. The Israel Barker then living in
Jefferson, Indiana had a wife named Mary (just like ours) but there is
some real confusion here. The children's names don't match up, nor
do the birth years for the parents. That means there are two families
headed by Israel and Mary Barker, living in Indiana in 1850 (BUT I couldn't
find another Israel Barker listed on the 1850 Indiana census index).
Big mystery! The information for this other Israel Barker was:
HUSBAND: Israel Barker, born 1810 in S. Carolina
WIFE: Mary Barker, born
1811 in Kentucky
Children: Robert D., born 1842 (?) in Indiana
F.D.W.?? born 1843 in Indiana
The Archibald Slane was a single man living a boarding home (most likely); I couldn't see any relation.
In the Hiram/Hugh Slane (hard to read) family, the father (age 37) was born in Virginia and the mother (age 39) was from Maryland. They had six children but their names were extremely hard to read (probably a Hugh, William and others.)
