county of Linlithgow [Scotland]

miner, married, died April 8th 1857 at 11 hr. P.M. at Fauldhouse School
Row. Age at death was 44 years. His parents: James Archibald,
coal miner, (deceased), and Agnes Archibald (maiden name Archibald).
Cause of death: Typhus Fever, 10 days. Certified by ?
Deceased on 8th April. Buried: Church grave, Whitburn, certified
by William Brown, sexton. Signature of informant: Alex Russell,
brother-in-law. Registrar: William Arthur.
Of special interest:
Note that the entry of death preceding Thomas Archibald is for John Griffen,
the registrar for the birth of Thomas's youngest son, Andrew
Small Archibald, just the year before! It must have been
a town epidemic.
