OUR CLICK CLAN

By Carolyn Whitaker

Come on in & take a trip down memory lane with me, as we delve into the branches of my family tree. Since beginning my website in 1999, I have accummulated a large collection of data on the different branches of our Click family. I have decided to expand my website and make this information available to more researchers. Please bear with me as it will take me a lot of time to get the data posted.

I want to express my gratitude to all of our family members who have contributed to this collection. So cousin's give yourselves a BIG PAT ON THE BACK. You have made this possible in bringing so many of our lost loved ones back together.

Be sure to use the search engine at the bottom of the page for easily finding your family. I have my site completely linked to all pages.

I will begin in Tennessee since that is where my research led me. My family settled Tennessee prior to statehood. We have an incredibly rich history of the settlement of not only the United States, but the early settlers of Cherokee Indian lands, then known as Washington County, North Carolina. The earliest I can document our family arriving is about 1785 and Tennessee didn't become a state until 1796. Settling among the Cherokee Indians, there was many a battle between the White settlers and the Indians. This intrusion resulted in our families subjecting themselves to resistance from the Indians, which is only understandable. They fought to give up their hunting grounds from which they survived. As we begin our journey, follow the links below to access the data.
