PITKIN Family Genealogical Research
(by Ron Bauerle)

Welcome to my PITKIN family page. I am descended from Martha Pitkin (1639-1719) who both came to Connecticut from England and married Simon Wolcott (1624-1687) in 1661. They settled in Springfield, MA, and my branch of the family ended up in Granville, Hampden Co, MA; Walworth, Wayne Co, NY, and Clinton Co, MI through marriage to the Cooley, Bancroft, Peterson, and Cressman families.

Most of the content of this page is geared towards Martha's brother William's descendants; Martha's descendants will be found on my Wolcott page when I get it put together. After Simon Wolcott died, Martha married Daniel Clark in 1689. Daniel, through his first marriage to Mary Newberry, was the grandfather of Jemima Clark, who married Daniel Cooley Jr., the son of Daniel Cooley and Elizabeth Wolcott, the daughter of Simon and Martha; in other words, Martha's second husband was her granddaughter-in-law's grandfather (got that? :^))
