Grace Augusta Blauss (John, Israel) was born DEC 1879 in Brooklyn, New York. She died 10 JAN 1944 in East Rockaway, Queens, New York.

She married William Elwood Lawby 19 JUL 1919 in Brooklyn, New York¹. He was born 17 JUL 1881 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, the son of Troubador and Emma Laubenstein.  Prior to their marriage, William changed his last name from Laubenstein to Lawby. He died 19 JAN 1944 in East Rockaway, Queens, New York.

William Lawby was a reporter for the New York American.

His obituary reads:
William E. Lawby, 62, A REPORTER FOR 30 YEARS
Covered Albany for American - Dies Nine Days After Wife
William E. Lawby, political reporter for the former New York American, on which he served for thirty years, died yesterday in his home at 138 Carman Avenue, East Rockaway, Queens, nine days after the death of his wife, Mrs. Augusta Grace Lawby, who had nursed him since he became ill in 1937. His age was 62.
Born in Shamokin, Pa., he entered newspaper work on the Shamokin Dispatch, and joined The American in 1907, being assigned to cover Police Headquarters.
In 1929, Mr. Lawby was transferred to cover the State Legislature.
In 1937 when he went to Florida for his health.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Powell, and a grandson, Alfred Powell.
