Died: 17Jul1881. According to the Register's Index for the Tioga County Courthouse, Walter died on 17Jul1881. He died without a will and he was in debt, thus on 30Nov1881 his wife filed for a "Widow's Exemption"---ie. she was allowed to keep $300 worth of the estate. She sold 50 acres for $1400 to pay off debts. No coroner records available on Walter. An obituary did state that he died of a "heart ailment".
Married: Rhoenna Goodwin (3 different spellings of her name found) on 30Aug1855 at Dickinson House in Corning by Gray, Esq.. Daughter of Charles Goodwin of Middlebury. She was born in 1834, (age 36 per 1870 census).
Walter and Rhoana had eight children:

Child No. 2: Mildred (Millie): (age 4 per 1870 census), lived in California.
Child No. 3: Ali: (age 5 per 1870 census), lived in Bear Lake, PA.
Child No. 4: Charles (16): (age 7 per 1870 census), born 1862
and died 09Nov1925.

Child No. 7: Elmer: (age 12 per 1870 census), lived in Mansfield,
PA. Buried in Mansfield cemetery.
