THE  SHAW  BRANCH

(15) John M. Shaw (24Feb1821-01Oct1895) and Calista Weeks (10Nov1827-25Oct1895)

John died at age 74 years, 7 months, 7 days.  Calista died at age 68 years.

John was born in Locke, Cayuga county, NY where he lived until grown and there married Calista Weeks in 1847.  They soon moved to Farmington county and there resided over twenty years.  They then moved to Woodhull, NY where they lived until moving to this boro over two years before his death.  John was a member of the Baptist Church and was buried in the Keeneyville cemetery.  John and Calista had four children:

          -- (1st) William Judson Shaw: (10Dec1855-23Apr1905)

          -- (2nd) Samuel J. Shaw:  (14Jul1850-25Mar1922) Born in Farmington, PA..  Moved to Keeneyville, PA about 1908.  He married Emma Jane Hurlburt (1854-1924) on 12May1875.  Samuel was buried in the Keeneyville cemetery.  They had four children: (1st child) J.L. (Lew) Shaw (1879-1953) of Mansfield, PA.  Lew married Lulu M. (1879-1955).    (2nd child) Mrs. William Stevens of Keeneyville, PA,  (3rd child) Mrs. Burt J. Briggs of Tioga, PA, (4th child) Mrs Leon J. Greenfield of Corning, NY.  

          -- (3rd) Ida M. Shaw:  Married Russel E. DeLong about 1880..  Born in Farmington, PA.  Lived in Borden.  Married over 50 years.

          -- (4th) unknown

(16) William Judson Shaw (10Dec1855-23Apr1905) and Mary Permelia "Millie" Coolidge (15Jan1859-03Feb1948)

William was born in Farmington township.  Moved to Woodhull in 1877 with his parents.  Married Mary Permilla Coolidge on 10Dec1877 (daughter of John Wesley Coolidge (1826-1916) and Catherine (Nickerson ?) (1832-1909).  They lived in Woodhull three years then moved to Mansfield, PA where he completed a course in telegraphy.  Soon after they moved to Wellsboro, PA where they resided until 1885 when they again moved to his father's farm in Woodhull.  Here they resided until eighteen years before his death when they purchased the home in Middlebury  where he died.  He was a member of the First M.E. Church of Middlebury.  He was buried in Keeneyville cemetery.  William and "Millie" had two daughters:

                          -- Pearl Shaw (Sep1886-24Jan1902) (age 15)

                          -- Lulu Mae Shaw (22May1884-18Jul1976)
