Two Contest Carroll Will
The widow and son of Charles C. CARROLL, Syracuse funeral director for many years, are contesting his will disposing of an estate estimated at upwards of $10,000. Objections to probate of the will were filed in Surrogate's Court by Mrs. Mabel J. CARROLL and Charles B. CARROLL, both of 203 Male av., Fairmount. ACCORDING to the will, the funeral director's business passes to his son-in-law, John C. TINDALL, 220 Cherry rd., who was associated with him. The building housing the business was left to his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth C. TINDALL; a $5,000 trust fund is created for his daughter; stocks and bonds are divided between his daughter and son, and Mrs. CARROLL; and the two children share equally in the residuary estate. The son's share is held in trust until he is 35 years old, and the will states that CARROLL provided liberally for his wife through life insurance. Mrs. CARROLL and the son contend that the will was not duly executed according to law, that the funeral director did not sign his name at the end, and that he was not of sound mind and memory at the time he made the will. They ask that the issues be tried by a jury. Their papers were filed through J. Norman Crannage of Marvin, Hand, Searle, Bush & Crannage.
