Family History research

Hello, my name is Liz Chater, my interest in tracing my family stems from not knowing anything about its origins! My site is steadily growing, and what started as a hobby has turned into a labour of love and a quest for knowledge.

My research has also highlighted to me that there is very little information for the Armenian family history research with ancestors who were based in India.  To that end, I have chosen to try and help the many Armenian family history researchers in investigating this area with as much information as I am able to provide and to make it all available free of charge.  I have become passionate about Indian Armenian history and about the Armenian people and their lives generally, and hope that in some small way I can help to highlight this unique and remarkably robust, small but sturdy and determined group of exceptional people, and the chequered pattern of their complex history.  I am no historian, merely an enthusiastic amateur researcher who feels strongly about her ancestors and their early beginnings.  I hope I am able to help you find some answers too.

Many hours of work have been put into the research and documentation of these ancestors. I hope you will benefit from the information I present here. There are also a number of CHATER names that are not related to me, but I have placed here to assist others with their research.

If you are looking for a specific name, I suggest you scroll down and use the Pico Search Engine.
