Redgate

Clifford Redgate was born in England in 1810. He married Caroline O'Brien, born September 12, 1824, according to the 1901 census. However, the 1881 Canadian census lists her birthdate at being in 1815, in Egypt. In any case, Caroline was 76 and a widow by 1901, and she was living in Grand Falls with her children Robert and Caroline. Children:

• Sarah Redgate was born in New Brunswick in 1850.
• Robert Redgate was born August 1, 1851 in New Brunswick. He lived in Grand Falls and made a living by farming.
• Mary Redgate was bron May 2, 1853 in New Brunswick. She was baptized as an adult, on Janaury 29, 1883 at the Assumption Parish. Her godparents were William McCluskey and Jane Harley.
• Joann Redgate was born in New Brunswick in 1855.
• Martha Redgate was born 1860 in New Brunswick. She married on November 12, 1888 to John F. McMillan, in Victoria County, New Brunswick.
• William Clifford Redgate was born April 15, 1862 in New Brunswick.
• Ellen Elizabeth Redgate was born 1865 in New Brunswick.
• Caroline Redgate was born October 2, 1872 in New Brunswick.

• William James Malcolm was born May 26, 1883 in Grand Falls. He was baptized at the Assumption Parish on July 7, 1883. His godparents were Thomas Kelly and Johanna Malcolm.
• John Robert Malcolm was born October 30, 1884 in Grand Falls. He was baptized at the Assumption Parish on January 20, 1885.      John died June 15, 1920, at age 35. He was buried June 17, 1920 at the Assumption Parish cemetery.
• George Clifford Malcolm was born June 23, 1886 in Grand Falls. He was baptized on October 8, 1886 at the Assumption Parish. His godparents were Corneilius and Elizabeth McLeish.
• Alexander Roy Malcolm was born May 12, 1888 in Grand Falls. He was baptized on June 23, 1888 at the Assumption Parish, with William Malcolm (his uncle) as godfather and Jane McLeish for a godmother.
• Caroline Ellen Malcolm was born in Grand Falls on May 29, 1890. She was baptized there at the Assumption Parish on June 27, 1890. Her godparents were James McLeish and Emma Kelly.
• Thomas Malcolm was born February 13, 1892 in New Brunswick.
• Mary Jane Malcolm was born in Grand Falls on July 28, 1885. She was baptized September 20, 1895 at the Assumption Parish. Her godparents were Michael Harley (her uncle) and Jane Malcolm (her aunt).

William Clifford Redgate was born April 15, 1862 in New Brunswick. As an adult, he worked a farm for a living. He married twice. First wife Lizzie Ethel Estabrooks was born June 8, 1872. They were wed in Victoria County, New Brunswick on June 24, 1891. William's second wife was named Mary Bradley and they were married on March 18, 1910 in Victoria County.      Mary and William both died in Victoria County - Mary September 16, 1922 and William several years later on September 22, 1938. • Carrie F. Redgate was born February 10, 1896.
• Albert Redgate was born Apriil 17, 1897.
• Maggie Redgate was born on April 12, 1900.
• Jessie Helen Redgate was born June 12, 1904. She married, on September 15, 1924, to Paul Wellington Gerow.

• John Neil Sanford Redgate was baptized January 15, 1911 at the Assumption Parish in Grand Falls. His godparents were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Tuck. John Neil, also called Sanford, was married to Dora Toner.
