THOMAS WOOD enlisted in PA. Served as Private in Captain Eli Myers' Company, Colonels Wilson and Mackay, 8th Regiment. He was in the battles of Bound Brook, Woodbridge, Brandywine, Paoli, Germantown, and Crooked Billet. Discharged Sept.10, 1779, served three years.
Pension application dated May 15, 1819, then a resident of Brown County, Ohio. Thomas had a brother David Wood, and 15 or 18 children.
Thomas is buried on the Verkamp Farm. In 1958 the grave was marked with a gov't marker by the Beech Chapter DAR, Pierce Twp. Clermont County, Ohio. (The marker was removed by a developer, and a house was built on the site.)
