Smith's First Directory of Oklahoma Territory For the Year
Commencing August 1, 1890 lists individuals living in Oklahoma
Territory. The first half of the book lists those residing in towns and
the second half lists homesteaders.
In 1890, Oklahoma Territory consisted of Logan, Oklahoma, Cleveland,
Canadian, Kingfisher, Payne and Beaver Counties. At that time, Beaver
County consisted of the entire Oklahoma Panhandle.
A "Name Finding List For Smith's First Directory" was created by Brian
Basore of the OHS Research Division. This index lists the individual's
name and page number. Names listed in all capital letters indicate
residents of Purcell, Indian Territory.

and check it. The trial period ended before I could do that
so this is what I wrote down, but it has NOT been checked. There
may be errors here. Footnote has the easiest 1930 censuses to
use. Heritage Quest has the censuses but no index and uses a
different notation from Footnote which means it is terribly time
consuming to try to find them on HQ. Ancestry is extremely
difficult to use. So what you see is what you
get. Use it with care. There is additional information on the
actual census. I did not take time to copy every detail because I
thought of this as a finding aid.
