William Woods & wife to Phillip Hodges Deed For the Consideration of the Sum of One Hundred and twenty five Dollars to us paid by Phillip Hodges, the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. We William Wood and Wife Mary S. (formerly Mary S. Watkins) have bargained and Sold, and do hereby Convey to the Said Phillip Hodges, his heirs and assigns forever, All the Right, title, Claim and Interest that we have in and unto the following described tract of land, to wit, Lying and being in Bedford County, On the Hurricane Fork of Falling Creek in District No. 6, Beginning at a Hickory & White Oak the North East Corner of John & William Payton's 640 Acre tract No. of Grant 3323 Running thence west Ninety Poles to a Stake; Thence South Ninety Poles to a Stake, Thence East Ninety Poles to a Stake; Thence North Ninety Poles to the Beginning, Containing Fifty Acres, being the tract of land purchased by Thomas C. Watkins from Henry Skedman, and deeded to him by and bearing date the 7th day of Febrary 1827, and duly Registered in the Registers Office of Bedford County in Book W Page 99. the Interest hereby Conveyed being an undivided One fourth part of the Same which have decended to us, as heirs & distributors of the late Thomas G. Watkins Decd And we do hereby Convenant and agree with the Said Phillip Hodges, that we are Lawfully Seized of the undivided Interest hereby Conveyed, Which Said Interest we bind Our Selves, Our heirs & Representatives to Warrant and forever defend against the Claim or Claims of all persons Whatever, Witness Our hand and Seals, This 12th day of June 1850.
