Mrs. Julia Helms

     Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Killough Helms of Rt. 2, Matthews who died early yesterday morning in a local hospital after several months' declining health, will be held today at 2 p. m. at Pleasant: Plains Baptist Church.
     The Rev. J. A. Hudson, the pastor  and Dr. Q. N. Honeycutt of Indian Trail Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, and nephews of Mrs. Helms will serve as active pallbearers. The body will be taken from McEwen Funeral Home to the residence this morning at 11 o'clock and to the church at I p. m. Officers of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church will be honorary pall bearers.

    Mrs. Helms was born Jan. 12,1884, in Union County the daughter of the late Robert R and Martha Secrest Deese.  She was an active member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church for 45 years. Surving Mrs Helms are her husband E. Grady Helms; two daughters, Mrs. J.C. Arant
of Pageland SC, and Mrs. J. Ray Crooke of Charlotte; seven sons A.G. Killiough, C. B. Killough, Ray Killough and L. E. Killough of Charlotte, C. P. Killough of Indian Trail, W. J. Killough of Raleigh, and Ney Killough of Wadesboro; 18 greatgrandchildren; and four brothers, Arthur T Deese, Joe Deese, Claude Deese, and Parse Deese, all of Rt. Matthews NC
