Notes: Adolphus worked the railroads, I suspect he worked the Clinchfield,
Southern and B & O lines. His wife Adeline died pretty young and there are
several stories about what happened to Adolphus. His children were raised by
Adeline's sister Cassie. Some say after Adeline died, he left his family and
went to Texas and started another family. Others say he went into Mexico
for many years and returned to the States when he became ill later in life.
Still others say he died in a railroad accident. I have yet to find out.
