That is the year that Jean Dubé and Renée
Suzanne were married. They had a son named Mathurin who was born sometime
around 1631. Mathurin moved to the New World and is mentioned as "the man
Dubé" in Quebec city around 1659. He is working for the Bishop,
who was François de Montmorency de Laval in 1670, and there he meets
"one of the Kings Daughters", Marie Campion. The rest is Our History...
Mathurin and Marie Campion are married on September
3, 1670 in the village of Ste.Famille, on the Isle of Orleans. There they
start their family of eight children. Their 1st child , Mathurin , is born
in January of 1672 and is baptized on Feb. 2, 1672. The 2nd is Marie-Madeleine,
baptized Sept. 22,1673. The 3rd is Louis, baptized on May 28,1676. The
4th is Pierre, baptized on Dec 18, 1678. The 5th is Charles, baptized on
Oct. 27,1680 at St.Jean IO. Québec.
The 6th child born is Laurent, in 1683, and he is
My direct line. The 7th is Marie-Ann, born in the year 1691 and the 8th
and final child for this couple is Jean-Bernard, born in 1693. I hope that
this little story will help all my long lost Cousins find each other and
keep the Family growing. Many thanks to all who have helped me get this
far.
