This copy of the birth record page from the family bible has been in the possession of the Ernest (Ernst) Enderlin family for many years. The photocopy given to me was a negative of the original. I scanned it and restored it to a positive image for viewing (see below). The origin of this copy is not known, but it was presumably the family bible used by Wilhelm and Maria Magdalena Enderlin to record the births of their children both in Germany and America. It is interesting to note that those children who died as infants were not recorded here. Wilhelm's first wife, Anna Catharina Zimmerlin, is also not shown.
The
entries are
in the classic German Gothic handwriting style, which can be difficult
to read by those used to the Roman alphabet. All of the names and birth
dates are verified and accurate. We are thankful to Helene Enderlin of
San Francisco for sharing this valuable piece of our family history. --
