Welcome S. Fisher appears on page 198 of the 1830 census for Providence, R.I.
On the1840 census, page 185, he is residing in Pomfret, Windham County,Connecticut.

On the 1850 census for the first time the given names of all members in the household are listed.  Welcome Fisher gives his age as 49 and place of birth as Killingly, Connecticut. He is a farmer and his real estate is valued at $3500; Minerva B. Fisher, his wife, is 45 years old.  Their children are:Erastus B. Fisher 24, DresserTender* ; Mary Ann  Fisher age 24 ; James O. Fisher 22 ; Earl W. Fisher age 9 ; Henry J. Fisher age 7 ; in this household is living 19 year old Andrew Hunt listed as a Laborer who was born in Ireland.  This census shows that Earl W. Henry J and Andrew had attended school within the year.

This copy of the 1850 census is difficult to read, but it is worth noting in the heading that Schedule L lists Free Inhabitants, Column #1 indicates that the family was the 32nd household visited and column #2 that his was the 37th family visited.
