Generation VI -5  Fleming - Cox


Sarah Fleming was living in Zanesville on 4 May 1823 when she was listed as a member of the M.E. Church as recorded by the Rev. John P. Durbin, Pastor.  Aso listed were Joseph, Samuel and George Storer. (History of Muskingum Co., Ohio).

Sarah is mentioned in this News clipping about the Storer's move from Maine to Ohio. Found in the J.D Johnson

Abner Fleming Sr. is listed with his father, Thomas, on the 1800 census for Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  He appears on the 1830 census for Muskingum County, Ohio with Lydia in the age group (50-60) with two females (15-20).

Abner bought land in Delaware County according to land records of August 23, 1816.   No record has been found indicating that he actually lived there. He was said to have made several land transactions in Muskingum County, the last one in 1849.
 

 Abner made a will October 2, 1850.

        Summary of the will of Abner Fleming Sr. of Circleville,
                      County of Pickaway, State of Ohio.

1. To my son Thomas Fleming the sum of Five dollars.
2. To the heirs of my son Abner Fleming dec'd, the sum of Five dollars
      to be equally divided between them share and share alike.
3. To my grandson Lewis Gibison one dollar.
4. To my Grand daughter Clarinda Fleming the undivided half part of the lot
    where I now reside together with all the appurtenances belonging to Lot
    No. three in Edson B Olds addition to the town of Circleville, at the
   decease of my beloved wife Lydia Fleming.
5. To my two daughters, Sarah Storer andAnn Bauder fifty dollars each.
6. To the children of my daughter Pheobe Delzell dec'd  $50 to be divided
    among them equally..
7. To my wife Lydia Fleming all the rest of my Real Estate and personal
    property after paying the named legacies.
8. The Executrix to pay the legacies within twelve months. The three daughters
    upon the payment of their legacies shall secure to my beloved wife interest
    upon the same during her natural life at the rate 6%.
9. I appoint my beloved wifeExecutrix of this my last will and testament.
                               This 23rd day of July 1850.

Neither Maria nor Isaac are mentioned in the will.  Maria married William Guiberson in Muskingum Co. in 1823 per family records.

Abner is buried at the High Street Cemetery in Circleville, Pickaway County. Lydia died sometime after 1854, she is mentioned as a party to a deed dated Feb. 9, 1854. She is presumed to be buried next her husband, from family records.
