Generation VIII- 4  Knight - Moody



GEORGE, b. 31 Jan. 1702; d. in Falmouth, Me. date unknown; m. in Newbury 3 Feb.
1726 Judith Moody, b. in Newbury 26 Oct. 1705.  They settled in Falmouth ca 1735, having on 4 Aug. 1733 purchased of John Graves* 60 acres of land about one mile west of the Presumpscot River.  Later he bought several large tracts of land near this river, and also land in No.Yarmouth and Standish.  Later he sold about 80 acres of this land to his brothers Enoch and William, who moved there from Newbury.  He was a Lt. in 10th Company of Capt. William Warner.  In the 1745 Louisberg expedition.  See "Louisburg Soldiers" N.E. Hist. Gen. Reg. No. 24, page 369.  His family bible, printed in Oxford, Eng. in 1738, presented to him in 1740 by John Moody, contains a record of the birth of his children.  The last six children were born in Falmouth, but only the birth of Amos is recorded in the Falmouth Town Records.
