This web page has been updated in May/June of 2011. The original intent of this site is the same as it has always been; to provide a FREE tool for researchers to help each other by the sharing of information - please support this intent by helping to keep it as accurate as possible. The information on this page represents the combined efforts of several researchers. I have verified the information by Wills, Equity, Deeds, Census and Cemetery Records where possible. Appearing in the 1820 Sumter Census age 45+ and born in Scotland, Angus owned property on Beaverdam Branch in Sumter. He is mentioned in the Von Hacke Records as the father of Daniel McLeod, h/o Jane Christmas, but research has proven that was an incorrect attachment. Daniel McLeod, h/o Catherine McLean was his son, proven by inheritance of property owned first by this Angus and second by Daniel and Catherine, land which is today owned by Daniel and Catherine's great great grandson.

Angus McLeod Sr. migrated to Barbour County Alabama with brother Daniel cr. 1835

Appearing in the 1820 Kershaw Census age 26-45, (2 males 0-10 1 male 26-45 2 females 0-10 2 females 10-15 1 female 26-45 ) - this Angus is said to have migrated from Kershaw South Carolina to Barbour County Alabama cr. 1835 with his brother, Daniel McLeod, husband of Catherine Douglas. Seen as Angus McLeod Sr. in land records of Alexander and Mary Catherine McCaskill McLeod; he was involved in an 1827 lawsuit in Kershaw County; the disputed land was sold prior to his migration to Alabama; dower release signed by Margaret McLeod.

Angus McLeod Jr. migrated to Ft. Walton Florida cr 1827

The son of Alexander and Mary Catherine McCaskill McLeod refered to in land records as such; and reportedly migrated to Ft. Walton Florida in 1827/1828 with the rest of his family.
