He was married to Anna Elizabeth BEHRENDS (daughter of Elizabeth [?] [BEHRENDS]) on 5 Oct 1847 in New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas.  Anna Elizabeth BEHRENDS was born on 20 Mar 1823 in Nassau.  She immigrated in 1845.  She appeared on the census in 1900 in Gillespie County, Texas.  Census said she had 10 children and 6 were living.  She died on 10 Nov 1910 in Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Texas.  Listed as Anna Behrnss in Kirchen Buch.  Christian ALTHAUS and Anna Elizabeth BEHRENDS had the following children:

7.  Carl  "Charlie" ALTHAUS was born on 10 Nov 1859.  He died on 2 Aug 1944 in Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Texas.  He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery  006 001 107.

He was married to Attie M. KEY on 5 May 1889 in Gillespie County, Texas.  FHL Number 982802  Attie M. KEY was born on 3 Aug 1872.  She died on 24 Jun 1954 in Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Texas.  She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery  006 001 107.
