            In 1978, ETGS extended an invitation to anyone with East Texas ancestors to
            submit five-generation charts for publication. The goal was to publish a large
            collection of ancestral charts, beginning with the present generation and going
            back as far as possible. Originally intended as a register of early East Texas
            families, it was hoped that such a book would help researchers find others who
            were working on the same family lines in East Texas. However, these ancestral
