Born: [58288] at: Died: at: Father: Mother: Spouses: Thomas BIRD (BYRD) CHILDREN Name: Mary BIRD (BYRD) According to the "National Dictionary of Biography" (Oxford), John North of Kirtling had as his first wife Sara, widow of Charles Drury of Rougham, Suffolk "and was afterwards twice married, to wives whose names are unrecorded". The article is based on a manuscript by Lady Frances Bushby (unpubl.). Starr (in "Goodwin-Morgan Lines") states that Mary Bird was John Northe's (sic) second wife. She appears to have predeceased her husband, since she is not mentioned in his will of 12 February 1691/2 ("Early CT Probate Records: Hartford District", vol. I, p. 491-492). In Thomas Bird's will, probated August 10, 1662, Mary Bird is referred to as "Goodwife Northe" in one place, and "Mary Northe" in another. Born: [58285] at: Married: at: Died: BEF 1691 at: Spouses: John NORTH John North came on the "Susan and Ellen" in 1635 with Richard Saltonstall, the son of Sir Richard Saltonstall. Another passenger on that trip was Simon Bird (eventually of Boston and Billerica). Perhaps Simon and John knew each other prior to the trip. [this sounds questionable to me. Look at other's dates- MM] Name: Simon BIRD (BYRD) Born: [58525] at: Died: at: Spouses:
