[Obituary of Werdna Lee Beaver Niemczak] [ex-wife of William Arch Murphy] [posted 19 Sep 2003] Werdna Lee Beaver Niemczak passed away May 21, 2003, at the age of 80 after a long battle with cancer. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Niemczak; one sister, Aretta Hurst; and her parents, Rollie and Donie Beaver. Survivors include her son, Rollie Murphy and wife Luciana of Ropesville; three daughters, Patsy Harrell of Odessa, Joan Levens of Lubbock, and Cassie Bryant and husband Larry of Estherville, Iowa; one sister, Nancy Jo Beaver of Arizona; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one on the way. She is also survived by her domino buddies. She loved the many hours she spent with them. Lee was outgoing and truly loved people. She was an active member of the Sunset Church of Christ. Until her retirement, she worked for 20 years in the Santa Ana, California, Public Library, and then she and Al moved to Lubbock in 1985. She thought Lubbock was the only place in the world to live. Lee was born in 1923 in Girard, Texas. She enjoyed talking and telling about these times in Girard. Her funeral will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Sunset Church of Christ. She will be laid to rest in Girard Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Childrens Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Hwy., Lubbock, TX 79403. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home
