[Will of Isham J. Crews, 1857] [p. 125, Maury Co., TN Will Book] [transcribed by Mark A. Murphy, 8/23/2000] Isham J. Crews Will Maury Co. Tenn 1857 I Isham J. Crews being weak in body, but sound in mind, and memory, do make and ordain this as my last will and testament in manner & form following viz[?]. First as is my will and desire that my funeral expenses and all my debt be paid out of my monies that may come into the hands of my Executor from sales or otherwise. Second, I will & desire that all my perisable property be sold on a credit at the discretion of my Executor. Third, I will and bequeath to my half brothers William A. & John Crews & to my half Sister Sophronia Plummer each one dollar. Fourth, I will and bequeath to my Mother Nancy Crews all my negros together with all my interests in my Father's land during her natural life, and at her death to be disposed of in the following manner viz. It is my will & desire that two hundred Dollars be given as a legacy from me to my half brother Wesley E. Crews & the balance of the money together with land & negroes be equally divided among my full brothers Joseph A., Thomas A., Gidion P. & Andrew W. Crews & my full Sister Elizabeth Gillespie share share alike. Fifth, lastley. I hereby nominate & appoint my brother Joseph A. Crews sole Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking, making void all former will by me made. The testimony whereof I have set my hand & seal the 2nd day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty seven. I.J.
