I Thomas Wickers of Appamatox in Westmorld County being sick and weak of body but of perfect sense and memory, praised be the Almighty God and knowing the certainty of death, but the uncertainty of the time when, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following- Impd.[?] I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of God my blessed Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. [end p. 247] [start p. 248] Christ, my body I commit to the Earth to be buryed in decent manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. Item, I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Benj.a Wicker forty pounds sterl living in the parish of Southley. Item, I give and bequeath to George Crosse my Executor son in law six hundred pounds of tobacco in cash. I desire that there may be Eleven hundred pounds of tobacco laid out for my funeral in drink and cakes. Item, I give and bequeath to Thomas Chancellor what shall be remaining of my crop at George Spellers after my funeral charges is paid for. Item, I give to Thomas Chancellor Jnr my gunn. Item, I give & bequeath to Charles Tankersley all my cloathes and also my desire is that my truly well beloved friend Mr. Jacob Martyn have inspection into all my concerns.
