COYLE - my PATERNAL LINE - father's -> mother's -> father

Marriages registered in the District of Castlefin in the Union of  Strabane in the County of Donegal.

The 1901 Census of Ireland depicts James Coyle, age 60 living in Townland Carnowen, Castlefin, Parish Donaghmore, Donegal Ireland.  It does not appear to be complete as only some of his children are listed.  Some may have died, but John who we know to be about 14 at this time is also not listed.  His marriage record was found in 1912.

·  My DONAHOE Line - MY Maternal Line - mother -> mother -> father -> father

Patricks parents were identified as John Donahoe and Johanna Healey. Most of his siblings immigrated throughout the 1800's to Boston. Edmund, Thomas, Michael, Ellen, and William. Patrick's mother was the eldest daughter of Thomas Healy and Ellen Nagle. She had 3 brothers who had immigrated to Boston in the 1820's, Daniel, John, and Maurice Healy. Johanna had at least one sister, Bridget. It is not known if Bridget or Johanna immigrated to Boston, but many of their children did.

Mary Parkers parents were William PARKER and Catherine SINGLETON. To date I have been able to identify 2 sisters, Catherine (b. 1821) and Ellen (est. 1840). The remaining Parker family was said to immigrate to Canada. I have been able to locate a brother William Parker who lived in Pembroke Ontario then moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario.  This line still exists in Thunder Bay.

FALLON - my PATERNAL LINE - father's -> father -> mother -> father

James Fallon purchased a grave in Calvalry Cemetery for a woman who may be his sister, Catherine Fallon Ward Donnelly. Her death certificate identifies her parents as Lawrence Fallon and Mary Kilroy. There are 2 other Kilroy's buried with Catherine.

Margaret Scott was the daughter of Richard SCOTT and Margaret TUREY or FUREY of Roscommon Ireland.

·         Collateral surnames include DOWD, KILROY, SCOTT, FUREY

Their children's death records list 2 different surnames for their mother. At this time, I am not sure which, if either is correct. COHANE or QUARM.

Jerimiah - was a redhead according to his granddaughter Margert Donahoe Cotter.

·  My PARKER Line - MY Maternal Line - mother -> mother -> father -> mother

  Although it is believed that Mary had a number of siblings which migrated to Boston, the only one found with certainty was her younger sister Ellen.  Mary and Ellen shared the same residence the last years of Mary's life. It is not known when Ellen moved to Boston, but based on her brother's letter she was there well before 1898.  Ellen is also buried in the Donahoe family plot.

 Catherine Parker, William and Catherine's eldest daughter's, birth record was found in Ireland.  It listed her date of birth as October 25, 1821 from Mallow Parish.  Her godparents were Denis Sullivan and Johanna Singleton.  Catherine was godmother to Mary's eldest daughter Johanna in 1856 in Boston.  Based on her brother's letter, Catherine predeceased William.

 Bernard Donahoe, Joseph Patrick Donahoe's grandson has a copy of the  letter from Mary's brother William dated 1898.  The letter was written from Pembroke, Ontario Canada to his sister Ellen.  William was a farmer in Canada, residing there at least from 1862, his marriage, until his death 6 months after his sister Ellen, in 1910.

 Apparently, William PARKER arrived in Renfrew county, Ontario, in the early 1860s.  At the time of the 1871 census, William and his family were residing in Alice (or Fraser) township, Renfrew county.  In the next two enumeration (1881 & 1891), the family was living in Petawawa township, Renfrew county.  They lived in Petawawa when Mrs. William PARKER passed away.  By 1910, the widowed William PARKER had gone to visit some of his adult children who had recently moved to Thunder Bay (Fort William and Port Arthur).  Having died in Fort William, William's remains were brought home to the cathedral cemetery in Pembroke.

·  My SCANLON Line - MY Paternal Line - father -> mother -> mother -> father

I believe they met up with family who had immigrated earlier, specifically the SPELMAN clan. Mary and her children lived with a Bridget Spelman until her dath in 1905. Her will listed Mary Spelman's children as her neices and nephews. The SPELMAN names shows again checking out baptismal records of Mary SPELMAN SCANLON's grandchildren.
