George
Nelson Hedley, the thirteenth child and second youngest of the 14
children of John Hedley and Margaret Grierson, was born in 1847 in
Torbolton
Township. He married Ann Grierson, born 1847, the daughter of James
Taylor
Grierson and Elizabeth Maclelland. The Belden Atlas of 1879 shows
George
Nelson located on Lot 18, Con. 4, near the farm of his widowed mother,
Margaret.

places their graves in Okotokas, Alberta. Six children (iv):
1 - Addeline Elizabeth Hedley born October 18, 1875 in Torbolton
Township. (An Adeline Hedley married John McClelland on
Dec. 30, 1896 in Melrose, Alberta according to the Calgary
Herald Weekly of Jan. 7, 1897)
2 - Mallisa Margaret Hedley born July 27, 1877 in Torbolton Township.
3 - Ernest Hiram Hedley born March 26, 1879 in Torbolton Township.
4 - Ida Jessie Hedley born January 13, 1881 in Torbolton Township.
5- Infant Hedley died 1882.
6 - James Victor Hedley born February 21, 1884 in Torbolton Township.
James Victor died in 1886 at age two, along with three other children
of George Nelson Hedley and Ann Grierson in an epidemic of scarlet
fever at White Lake, Ontario.
