Anna Augusta Koehn Heuck
Anna was the third child of John Carl Martin Koehn and Elizabeth Louise Voss, born on June 28, 1896. She grew up on a farm near Burt, NY, along with her sister, Augusta, and brothers, Carl and Frank.  She was married on April 3, 1917 to William L. Heuck, a native of Germany, having immigrated to this country with his parents at age 4, and a former resident of Trenton NJ.  They were married in the German Lutheran parsonage in Lockport, NY, by Rev. Herman Meier at 5 o'clock.  The attendants were Miss Alma Mueller (Miller), cousin of the groom, and Carl Koehn, brother of the bride.  They went on an east coast trip after the wedding, and then made residence in Buffalo.  In 1936, they bought a farm on the Dale Road in the town of Newfane, NY, where they farmed the land for 15 years until his unexpected death in 1951 at the age of 66.  She then sold the farm and moved to the village of Newfane, NY, sharing a residence with her nephew, William Holtz. She continued to work in a small village restaurant as a cook and waitress until her retirement.  Anna was viewed as a family loving woman who kept close family members and cousins together.  She died (obit) in August of 1976 in Newfane, Niagara County, NY, and was buried beside her husband in Wrights Corners Cemetery, Newfane, NY .
NOTE:  This genealogy web site would never have been written, if not for the inspiration obtained from reading her scrapbook.
