WHY LINKS DON'T WORK

There are many reasons why Links don't work, or work sporadically.

The first reason is that perhaps the link is mistyped or broken.

  • Mistyped Addresses are fairly common and easy to do. Sometimes they are the hardest things to spot when checking a message for accuracy before sending too.
  • If the URL is too long for the line then sometimes the remainder of the URL is dropped to the next line and not seen as a part of the hyperlink by the email program you are using.
  • Some e-mail programs are non-standard and do not display URLs as hyperlinks (clickable links). However this seems to be getter to be rarer every year.
  • A setting in your browser that causes a URL to work as a hyperlink might not be correctly set.

Quick resolutions attempts

  1. You should copy and paste the URLs into your emails as often as possible to help insure accuracy.
  2. You can also copy the full URL from the Email and paste it into the address bar of your browser window to get it to work.
  3. Another suggestion is if the URL ends in .htm and doesn't work, try adding an l to make the extension .html and see if that works.

There are other reasons why links don't work, the First item to be noted is that the server is down for repairs, maintenance or because of a temporary problem. Another reason is that "Line Noise" can interfere with signals and the signal you send may not always be transmitted to the various servers properly.

The best thing to do when a URL doesn't work is to check and make sure the URL is typed in completely and accurately. Once you are sure the URL is correct, then wait and try calling back later to see it the site will connect.
