ALLEN CAVINS
1926-1994
Allen Cavins, 68, died Sunday, October 30 at Paul B. Hall Regional
Medical Center.
Mr. Cavins was born August 6, 1926, in Pike County, the son of Jess
Cavins and the late Blanche Cavins. He was a retired miner.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Freda Phelps Cavins in 1973.
Surviving are his father, two sons, Phillip D. Cavins of Meally and Roger
D. Cavins of Lowmansville; four daughters, Nikki C. Palmer of Hager Hill,
Terry Tackett of Van Lear and Melissa and Jessica Cavisn, both of Auxier;
four brothers, Bill Cavins of Lick Creek, Virgil Cavins of Road Creek,
and Alvery and Lundy Cavins, both of Cleveland, OH; one sister, Velvie
Abshire of Gallipolis, OH and 10 grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, November 2 at 11 a.m. at
Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Hill officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
