Theodore “Tom” Colvin, 90, of Asa Creek Road, Leander, died Friday, June 10,
at Paul B. Hall Medical Center, Paintsville.
 
Born Nov. 23, 1920, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Morris and
Erie Arms Colvin. He was a retired coal miner, a U.S. World War II Army
veteran, and a member of the Beachwall United Baptist Church.
 
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Colvin and Pete Colvin;
and a sister, Anna Laura Colvin Johnson.
  
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Trimble Colvin, whom he married Nov. 16,
1946; three sons, Joe (Judi) Colvin of Leander, Jerry (Sharon) Colvin of
Denver, and Jake (Wilma) Colvin of Salyersville; a daughter, Glenda (Alvin)
Colvin Blair of Barnetts Creek; two sisters, Bonnie Colvin and Kathleen
Colvin, both of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Marsha Jo Colvin,
Crystal Workman, Jamie Workman, Jay Colvin, Tonjua Colvin, J.T. Blair, Andrea
Blair, Morgan Colvin, and Jake Ryan Colvin; seven great-grandchildren, Jacub
Colvin, Emily Workman, Madison Blair, Ethan Fannin, Kyle Workman, Jonathan
Colvin and Lily Grace Shaw; and a host of nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with Herb Arms, Joe Scott, and Richard Williams officiating.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Staffordsville.
 
Military rites were by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV, under direction of Jones-
Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
