HAROLD LEROY DALZELL

Harold Leroy Dalzell passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, October 4, at
the home of his father-in-law, Mr. W. H. Cox, 135 E. Main Street,
Paintsville. His death was unexpected although he had undergone major
open heart surgery twice within the past 6 ½ years at Houston, TX.

Death was caused by failure of an artificial heart valve. Mr. Dalzell was
the son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Dalzell, deceased, and was born in
Youngstown, OH. He had been residing with Mr. and Mrs. Cox for the past
few months, but his home was in Irving, TX.

Mr. Dalzell attended Mt. Union College, and Massachusetts Institute of
Technology, and was retired from his career with Thompson Electric
Company of Cleveland, OH, because of his health. He had held the position
of national sales manager for many years. He was a member of the First
Methodist church of Cleveland, OH, and was a member of the Midwest
Engineering Society, Cleveland Illuminating Engineering Society, the Lake
Shore club of Chicago, and the M.I.T. Club of Chicago. He was married to
Wilma Jane Cox Dalzell on January 28, 1961 in Chicago, IL.

He is survived by his son, Richard Alan Dalzell, Irving, TX, a step
daughter, Mrs. J. Vernon Majakey of Paintsville; one brother, Herbert
Vernon Dalzell, Youngstown, OH, two grandchildren, Denise and Deborah
Dalzell; two step grandsons, Lee and Bill Majakey.

The funeral was conducted in the chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home
at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 7, with the Reverend Jerry Ginnan
officiating.

The Eulogy was read, a very beautiful and touching tribute by Dr. Paul B.
Hall.

Pallbearers were George Branham, Bill Borders, Clarence Castle, Mark
Maggard, Andrew Byrd Cox, Paul W. Cox, Dr. Robert. A. Hall, Dr. Jerry
Fraim and Dr. C. H. Saylor of Irving, TX.
