Gladys Burke Preston, 93, of Lexington, died Wednesday, June 21,
2006 at Lexington Country Place, Lexington.
Born May 28, 1913, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the
late Jeff and Nancy Ann Horne Burke. She was a school teacher.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Preston.
Survivors include a son, Michael Patrick of Frankfort; five
sisters, Sharon Patrick Nighbert of Lexington, Carol Race of
Fairfield Glade, Tenn., Donna Meade of Naples, Fla., Shirley Burns
of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Phyllis Blanton of Toledo, Ohio; 16
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, June 26, at Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel, Paintsville, with Don Barnett officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
