MALTA PRESTON

Malta Preston, 86, died Friday, July 22, at her Williamsport home after an
extended illness.
  
Mrs. Preston was born March 24, 1891, in Johnson County, the daughter of
James Henry and Mintie Spears Howe. She was a member of the Primitive
Baptist Church.
   
Her husband, I. D. Preston, preceded her in death on October 10, 1976.
 
Surviving are three sons, Virgil Preston of Cincinnati, OH, Paul Preston
of Vero Beach, FL, and Harold L. Preston of Williamsport; three daughters,
Leona Wallen and Betty Dean Wallen both of Williamsport and Patty Schwartz
of Dayton, OH; two brothers, Glen Howe of Baltimore, MD, and Bert Howe of
Point Pleasant, OH; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three
great-great grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, in the Friendship Primitive
Baptist Church at Thelma with Avery Lowe, Paul Keaton and Don Adkins as
officiating ministers.
  
Burial was in the family cemetery at Williamsport with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
