Mrs. Matilda Trimble Preston, 48, died in a local hospital at 4:15 a.m.,
Friday, July 17, after an illness of five days.

She had been in ill health for the past several years.

She was born in this county November 5, 1912, the daughter of Mrs. Cora
Webb Trimble of this city and the late Shell Trimble.

She was a member of the United Baptist Church.

She was formerly married to Fred Preston, Jr., who survives. Other
survivors are a son, John Preston, Paintsville; two daughters, Mrs. Cecil
Burke, Columbus, Ohio, and Miss Nellie Preston of this city. Also
surviving are the following brothers and sisters: John Powell Trimble,
Maysville; Mrs. Charlie Colvin, Wittensville; Mrs. Bert Estepp, Barnetts
Creek; Mrs. Irvin Cantrell, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Millard Overly, Dayton,
Ohio.

Funeral services were conducted from the United Baptist Church in this
city at 1:00 p.m., Sunday with F. F. Rigsby and Loran Reed as officiating
ministers.

Burial was in the family cemetery in this city.
