HALEBOWENCEM

HALE- BOWEN
CEMETERY

At Boons Camp, take the Hurricane Road all the way to the very end.  That's

approximately 1 mile.  At the very end, you will come to a "Y".  The cemetery is
located straight ahead, at the end of the road, and on the top of the hill.

The cemetery only has rocks for markers.

There are probably 6-8 graves.

It is probably 1.5 miles from the end of the road.  It was very hard to get to.
I can't imagine anyone will ever be interned there again.  I can't even imagine
anyone even going to visit it.  It is very difficult to get to.  I have taken a
couple photos but it doesn't have much to offer.  If anyone has names for any of
the people interned there, please e-mail  [email protected].
I conferred with the land owner, Bob Taylor who has owned the land for some 35
years he was unable to offer any info concerning the people interned in this cemetery.

NOTE
Just below the Bob Taylor home and in Copperhead Branch, was a grave of a small
child.  Several years ago there was extensive logging done in the area.  During the
logging process, the grave was completely destroyed cosmetically.  The grave was
left completely intact but the ability to now locate the grave is virtually
impossible.   Due to disabilities, Bob wasn't able to show me as it is very rugged
and he is confined to a wheel chair.  The child was born to Cecil & Minnie Waller.
Cecil is interned in the Waller cemetery.
