Barbara D. Allen, 64, of Prestonsburg, died Saturday, Feb.9 2008.
  
Born Oct. 25, 1943, she was a daughter of Orville Dotson and Thelma
Whitaker Dotson of Abbott Creek. She was a retired executive
Assistant, retiring in 2003. She was a Sunday school teacher and
served on various church committees at First United Methodist Church,
Prestonsburg.
  
Survivors include her husband, David Allen; two sons, David D. Allen
II of Hudson, Ohio and James D. Allen of Lexington; a brother,
Charles O. Dotson of Greenwood, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 11, at First United Methodist
Church, with Rev. Mark Walz officiating; Entombment was in Highlands
Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under direction of Carter Funeral
Home, Prestonsburg.
  
Active pallbearers were Robert R. Allen II, Robert R. Allen III,
Wilson Kingsley Allen, Chris Dotson and Michael Harris.
  
Honorary pallbearer was Chris Honeycutt.
