Mary Ruth Shepherd Allen, 48, of Hopkinsville, died Friday, June 13, at
Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville.
  
Born March 8, 1966, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late
William Jesse and Florence Ann Robinson Shepherd. She was a homemaker.
   
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Allen; and a daughter,
Amy Allen.
  
Survivors include a son, John Allen of Sitka; two daughters, Johnna Allen
and Tiffany Bohr, both of Prestonsburg; three brothers, Paul Shepherd of
Clay City, William Robinson of Jacksboro, Tenn., and Sam Shepherd of
Ashland; six sisters, Sue Allen of Georgetown, Della Powers of Auxier, Lucy
Burchett and Marty Barnett, both of Prestonsburg, Patricia Shepherd and
Debbie Conley, both of Paintsville; and seven grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 17, at Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel,
with Lionel Burchett officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of
Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
