ALONZO ARROWOOD
1882-1970

Alonzo Arrowood, an 87-year-old former Tutor Key resident, passed
away in a Prestonsburg nursing home on July 21 after an extended
illness.

He was buried in the Highland Memorial Park, under the direction of
the Paintsville Funeral Home, after the Rev. Herschel Short held
services in the home's chapel on July 24.

The retired miner and member of the Church of Christ was born in
Johnson County to the late Marion and Delilah Price Arrowood.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dutch Gibbs Arrowood, in
1920.

Survivors are his wife, Anna Witten Arrowood; three sons, Paul
Arrowood of Paintsville, James Arrowood from Phoenix, Ariz., and
Raleigh Arrowood of Ft. Worth, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Gaylord
Pack of Paintsville; Mrs. Forest Oney of Canton, Ill., Mrs. Frankie
Janow from Phoenix, Ariz., and Irvin resident Mrs. Charles Strong; a
brother and a sister, Willie K. Arrowood of Meally and Mrs. Lillie
Webb of West Van Lear; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
