JAMES R BLACK

James R. Black, a former C&O Railroad mechanic and West Van Lear man,
died Tuesday, September 28, 1970 in a Huntington, W.Va. hospital.

He was 65.

Services were held the following Wednesday by W. E. Davis in the chapel
of Jones Preston Funeral Home.

The Jones- Preston Funeral Home then arranged for burial in the Highland
Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Born in Nashville, Tenn. He was the son of Truda Lehman Black and the
late James K. Black. Sr. Minnie Helen Hodges Black, his wife, survives
him.

Other survivors include a step son from Knoxville, Tenn.  Leonard
Vandergill: two brothers, Lehman Black and Jerry Black, as well as two
sisters, Mrs. Christiene Griffith and Miss Helen Black.  All four live
in Nashville.
