MICHAEL RAY BORDERS
1948-1970

Services were held Friday, January 1, 1971, for Michael Ray
Borders, 22, who succumbed in a Huntington, W. Va., hospital on
December 29, 1970, after a brief illness.

He was the son of William Ray and Joanne Painter Borders of
Paintsville. A graduate of Paintsville High School, he attended
Eastern State University, then entered business in Paintsville as
the proprietor of the Herald Newsstand on Court Street.

He relinquished that business last year due to illness, and had
entered the hospital only a short time before he succumbed.

Born September 16, 1948, he had been a lifelong resident of
Paintsville and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Immediate survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister,
Jane Ann Borders, of Paintsville.

Rev. Charles Milam Jr. and Rev James Wallace officiated at the
January 1 services at the First Baptist Church.

Burial followed in Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home.
