Betty Lou Meade Burchett, 84, of Lexington, formerly of
Staffordsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Hospice Care Unit of St.
Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born Aug. 5, 1924, at Paintsville, she was the daughter of the late
Lula Butler and Fred Meade. She was a homemaker and a member of the
First Baptist Church in Paintsville.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hysell Burchett.
Survivors include a son, Dwight Burchett of Staffordsville; a
daughter, Bettina Patrick of Lexington; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20, at Jones-
Preston Funeral Home, with Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will be in Highlands Memorial Park, Staffordsville.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home, Friday, Sept. 19,
under direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the UK Markey Cancer
Center, 500 South Limestone, Lexington, KY 40508-9964.
