Thomas Castle, 90, of Lowmansville, died Saturday, Dec. 20,
2014, at Mountain Manor, Paintsville.

Born Dec. 14, 1924, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Walter and
Sara Clay Castle. He was a retired coal miner and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Calvin Castle; four brothers; and two
sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth VanHoose Castle; two sons, Tommy Castle of
Ulysses and David Keith Castle of Lowmansville; a daughter, Pam Fraley of
Lowmansville; two brothers, Willard Castle of Lowmansville and Lawrence
Castle of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Tom’s Creek Freewill Baptist
Church, with James Kelly Caudill, Chuck Slone and David K. Castle
officiating. Military rites were by Auxier Chapter #18 DAV.

 Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
 direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
