WILSON CHILDERS
1891-1962

Wilson Childers, 71, retired C & C Railway conductor, died in the C & O
Hospital in Huntington, WV at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, December 11 after an
extended illness.

The son of the late Arch and Leah Kaiser Childers, he was born February
18, 1891, at Carbo, VA. He formerly made his home at Shelbiana, but had
lived in this city for the past 5 years. He belonged to the Order of R.
R. Conductors Trainmen’s Association.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stella Damron Childers; a daughter, Mrs.
Nevolyn Smith of this city; four brothers, Lowney Childers, Richland,
VA; Terry Childers, Knoxville, TN; Shular and Ernest Childers, both of
Cincinnati, OH; four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Jessie, Mrs. Tessie Jessie
and Mrs. Virgie Lawson all of Cincinnati, OH; Mrs. Ann Jones, Bethel,
OH.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Mrs. Patsy Johnson, Pikeville;
Jimmy Wilson Smith and Connie Jo Smith both of this city; one great
grandchild, Robyn Johnson, Pikeville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the
Jones and Preston Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Hart as officiating
minister.

Pallbearers will be C & O employees of Pikeville. Burial will be in
Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
