Luther Conley of Oil Springs dies Sunday

Luther Conley, 69, retired teacher and farmer of Oil Springs and widely
known county resident, died at his home Sunday afternoon at 3;15
September 30, after an illness of seven months.

Mr. Conley was born at Oil Springs October 16, 1892, the son of Connie
and Dora Crace Conley and has a lifelong resident of that community .
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Stapleton Conley, whom he
married in 1916.

Also surviving are four sons, Willis H. Conley and Leroy Conley,
Dayton,Ohio; Coonie F. Conley, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. C.P.
Hayes, Irvine; Mrs. Paul Auxier, Tripoli, Africa; Wilma Conley, Oil
Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Jackson, Staffordsville; Mae Preston,
Salyersville; eight brothers, Rawleigh Conley, Derby,Ohio; Tollie
Conley, Wittensville; Charley Conley,Oil Springs; Willie Conley, Irwin,
Ohio; Hobart Conley, Win; Gus Conley, Oil Springs; Mitchell,
Staffordsville. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted ar 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the chpael of
the Paintsville Funeral Home with Bruce Daniel and Robert HArt as
officiating ministers. Music was by the Rice Quartet. Burial was in
Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
