Shirley Jane Tackett Dorton, 65, of Thealka, died Sunday,
March 9, at her residence.
   
Born May 30, 1948, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
Jessie and Maude Litteral Tackett. She worked at Paul B. Hall Medical
Center.
  
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lynn McFaddin; and a
great-grandchild.
  
Survivors include her husband, Michael David Dorton; two sons, Robert
Eugene Bowen of Lafayette, Tenn., and Donnie Ray Bowen of Paintsville; two
sisters, Estelle Reed of Meally and Libby Foley of Prestonsburg; six
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Thursday, March 13, at Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel,
with Roger Thornsbury officiating. 
   
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park,
Staffordsville, under direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
