Virginia Sue Sparks Estep, 77, passed away after a year-long battle with
cancer early in the morning of April 14, 2014 in Lincoln, IL. Sue was a
homemaker, an active member of the Southern Acres Christian Church, worked
in the Human Resource department of Sayre Christian Village for 25 years
until her retirement, and enjoyed the company of many friends through
church, work, and the neighborhood.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Riley Estep, Sr., several
siblings: Dr. O. D. Sparks, Jr., Howard Sparks, Anna Sparks Colvin,
Richard E. Sparks; and her mother, Sarah Hattie Castle Sparks.

Sue is survived by her son, James Riley Estep, Jr., and his wife Karen of
Lincoln, Illinois, and her grandchildren: Budd (Kara) Estep, Dovie Estep,
and Dylan Estep. She is also survived by two sisters, Darlene Preston of
Canton, OH and Dorothy Bradley of Kenova, WV; as well as a brother-in-law,
David (Marcie) Estep of Van Lear, KY. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm
Friday at Milward – Southland. Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday at
the Jones – Preston Funeral Home, in Paintsville, KY with a visitation
beginning at 1 pm.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers, cards, encouragement, and
support during the year-long ordeal of my mother’s cancer.
