Funeral services will be held today, Friday, March 20, 11 a.m. at the
Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Edwin “Pete” Phelps, 89, of
Meally, Ky., who passed away Tuesday, March 17 at Highlands Regional
Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Phelps was born Jan. 19, 1920 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the
late Lon C. and Ethel Stanley Phelps.
Surviving are his wife, Carmona Ethel Phelps of Meally; one daughter,
Janet Sue (Wallace) Taylor of Meally; one brother, Paul Phelps of
India Atlantic, Fla.; two sisters, Evelyn Miller of Baltimore, Md.,
and Emmalee Ward of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and seven grandchildren,
thirteen great-grandchildren and three great- great- granchildren.
The service will be officiated by Wayne Short, with burial in the
Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.
